1954 Gibson Les Paul Custom "Black"

Just in from the family of the original owner! This guitar was purchased brand new in 1954 from a music store in Auburn, New York and used extensively by a professional musician in the area. An extremely early, pre-serial number 1954 Les Paul Custom, this guitar features an incredible "soft V" neck, with a screaming P90 pickup in the bridge position, complimented by an Alnico V pickup in the neck. The guitar has been professionally re-fretted and features later "double ring" Kluson tuners, but is otherwise fully original. The history alone make this one of the coolest "Black Beauty" guitars we've seen, but it is also a phenomenal playing and sounding guitar! They don't come much better than this!
