Description

Pictured is an incredibly rare, factory original 1957 Gibson Les Paul Custom with the “Mickey Baker” wiring layout! Baker was best known as a studio musician and half of the musical duo Mickey and Sylvia, with hit single “Love is Strange”. Baker’s music book series, “The Complete Course in Jazz Guitar,” has remained in print for over 50 years and is a staple for a beginner student. Baker predominantly played an ES-5, so he wanted those same controls on a Les Paul. The knob where the selector switch is typically located acts as the master tone control, while the three lower knobs control the individual PAF volumes so that you can blend each in endless combinations. Gibson made an extremely small run of them, where about 12 of these were made, making them very rare and hard to come by. The stop-tail holes were plugged expertly in black, so they are hardly visible. This particular instrument has certainly been played, but well cared for with playwear throughout.

Overall Condition: 8, wear and impressions throughout, mild patina
