Bay Area Vintage Guitars is proud to offer this all-original 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty. Purchased from the second owner, it is in rare, one-of-a-kind condition with original fretless wonder frets and PAT # pickups. It also includes the original Gibson hardshell case.
The excellent playing guitar has plenty of patina, signs of wear, and light scratches and dings (please see pictures for more detail). There is one chip on the neck and light checking on each side of the neck binding, but otherwise, the neck is in fantastic condition after nearly 56 years of playing.
The body has light checking, and there is a touchup near the binding on the lower treble side of the front of the body. As is the condition with most of these, the gold is tarnished, and there is light rust on most of the screws, but it looks like the work that the Gibson Custom Shop does to make these look like this with heavy aging.
The pot codes date to the 52nd week of 1968, and the serial number places this solidly in 1969, but before the pancake body and neck volute.
