1989 Les Paul Custom 35th Anniversary 3PU
This model was produced to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Les Paul Custom.
The Les Paul Custom debuted at the Mann Show in July 1954 as the pinnacle of Gibson's solid guitars, thanks to strong sales of the 1954 Les Paul Sunburst. The Custom was priced at $325, compared to the Standard's $210. As advertised as a guitar that would look great with a tuxedo, the guitar's black coloring, luxurious gold parts, and laminated binding gave it a mature atmosphere.
This guitar was produced to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Les Paul Custom. Since the humbucking pickups were first installed in 1957, this model was built following the 1957 model. The three pickups have a front and bridge pickup sound, as well as a toggle switch for the bridge pickup and a center pickup sound. The center position provides the bridge pickup and the phase sound of the center pickup. The distorted phase sound is exactly like the hard rock sound of the 70's, and those who know the sound of the 70's will be drooling over it, and will be immersed in the performance. This Les Paul Custom already has a vintage look even at this age.
