Here we have a Gibson Les Paul Jr from 1963, the last year this model carried the great Mr. Paul’s moniker. Regardless of what you call it, this guitar totally slays. The neck is big and bold. The pickup can knock down buildings. And the worn-in look says this bad boy has all the mojo you can handle. Seriously, it’s a fabulous guitar.
The condition is that of a well-loved guitar, never abused but not pampered either. The deep rich Cherry finish has aged nicely and it has the patina, nicks, and dings you’d expect from a guitar that has hung out in clubs and arenas for better than 50 years. We think it looks righteous and you can tell from the photographs why.
A Bigsby tailpiece has been added. There are a couple of filled holes on the top from a prior tailpiece. The original 3-on-a-plate tuners have been replaced with double ring Kluson Deluxe tuners. The guitar was refretted awhile ago. The frets are a bit worn but still quite playable.
We’re in love with this guitar and we’d love to keep it around the shop for awhile, but it insists on going back on the road. So, take advantage of this opportunity and join forces with this little beauty to create some serious mayhem and magic.
