I purchased this very clean 1955 Gibson Les Paul Junior from the son of its original owner last week. It's a very clean example and is a fine player as well. It has a strange feature I've not see before in any P-90 Les Paul: the base plate of the pickup is neither a dog ear mount nor a center mount for a soap bar cover. Instead, there are two factory drilled screws holding the pickup to the body on the bridge side of the base plate. It's undoubtedly factory since there are no other holes in the body and all solder is factory applied. You can scroll through the photos here to see for yourself.
