Well, it turns out that this guitar has seen some work. Les Paul Forum folks were apparently discussing this guitar and someone pointed out to me that it had been sold on Reverb several years ago with a headstock break repair. This was disconcerting because I didn't see the work, and also because a trusted source sold me the guitar.

A search through old Reverb listings shows the guitar with a visible, though certainly not devastating headstock repair. At some point the work was concealed - it was oversprayed and very well hidden.

So, what I have here is what appears to be an all original guitar with an expertly performed headstock repair that you can barely discern in person.

Les Pauls of this era were equipped with Madagascar Rosewood, which very much looks like Brazilian, further sealing the deal on this killer axe.

The original case is in similar shape as compared to the guitar - close to mint. Enclosed is the Custom Art & Historic certificate of authenticity, warranty card, hang tag and owner's manual.

There is a little damage to report on the case. One of the metal feet on the back of the case is pushed in a little - please see the pic. This is the only damage of note on the case.
