1962 Gibson Les Paul/SG Standard Cherry
Now available on consignment, a 1962 Gibson Les Paul/SG Standard in its original cherry finish with the sideways vibrola!
This particular example has been well looked after for the last 60+ years. It shows some play wear with fade on the neck and on the front of the body, as well as some pickwear below the last fret/at the neck join.
Work to the guitar includes:
A recent professional refret and new nut performed by Piers Crocker, there is some older touchup on the bass side of the nut.
There was some separation on the bass side of the neck joint, this has since been carefully glued by Piers Crocker in Sydney. Please note there are NO cracks or breaks at the heel.
The nylon saddles have been replaced, the vibrola arm is a period replacement.
The pickup covers are aged replicas.
Otherwise this Les Paul/SG Standard is in good shape, featuring two original short magnet PAF pickups, and its original wiring harness with centralab pots, switch, and input jack. Most of the original hardware remains including the wired nickel abr-1 bridge and thumbwheels, sideways vibrola, single line/double ring Kluson tuners, and all of the original plastics.
It's currently setup with 10-46 strings and plays effortlessly thanks to the recent refret, and the fast '62 slim neck profile.
