Fantastic example of an extremely clean all original 1957 Gibson Les Paul Special serial number 7 3931. Always great value for the money a 1950’s era Les Paul Special is a wonderful guitar and a smart investment speculation. To feel a 1957 Gibson Les Paul neck is a wonderful experience, and this years production Gibson was using a smaller fret, in 1959 Gibson started installing a larger fret. These frets in spite of being small have almost no wear and all their life left as the guitar just wasn’t played much. At this time Gibson was using a very dry Honduras mahogany for the body, Brazilian rosewood for the fingerboard and the result was a guitar that weighs 7 pounds 7 ounces, now you have an instrument that's sonically pleasant to the ear. This guitar sounds great when played acoustically no amp, a sign of a great guitar that gets even better when you add two hand wound P-90's to the mix. This helps explain some of why these instruments are good; they were made largely by hand with materials not available any more but were common and available supply at that time for manufacturing. This guitar displays no real playing wear but does have some minor signs of age most noticeably in the form of light weather checking, primarily on the face but hard to see as it’s not severe and not everywhere. The electronics are 100% all hardware is original and very clean, no modifications or repairs, not a solder joint touched, a pristine unmolested piece easily within the top few percent of all of the Specials available today. We highly recommended buying instruments in this realm of quality, as the investment yield is always greater when buying rare models in perfect condition. This is certainly true of this 1957 Gibson Les Paul Special, all-original near mint with newer Gibson Custom Shop case.

We ship USPS Priority and Fed Ex Ground next business day, all instruments are carefully packed utilizing new shipping materials, all instruments are insured by Heritage Insurance. All parcels are flat rate shipped and are the same price for all buyers in the domestic USA, international shipping is also flat rate for anywhere in the world. The price is based on the cost of new shipping materials, boxes, bubble wrap, tape and labor and has nothing to do with where you are or your ability to pick it up in person. It is not in our business model to offer in person demonstrations of instruments or in person pickup, both of these things take an employee and extra time. If you have a limit as to what you want to spend on shipping please factor this into you instrument offer as we accept reasonable offers on most items. If an item doesn’t allow a lower offer it’s because it’s already been discounted and already at its lowest price. We recommend that you don’t chose an instrument based on shipping cost alone as there are more important issues all of which we have well covered. I might point out that all of our guitars come with professional detailing and set up, this has real value and keeps one from getting inferior work from an unqualified retail establishment.
