2005 Gibson Les Paul Standard Root Beer

Very good condition featuring single cutaway mahogany body, bound two piece figured maple top with Root Beer finish, two humbucking pickups with cream plastic pickup surrounds, two volume controls and two tone controls with gold plastic bonnet knobs, three way pickup selector switch with cream plastic selector ring and white plastic switch tip, single ply elevated cream plastic pickguard with metal mounting bracket, stop tailpiece and Gibson Nashville tune-o-matic bridge with six individual adjustable steel saddles and two height adjusting thumb wheels, set mahogany neck, bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid trapezoid inlays, bone nut, Gibson open book peghead shape, black peghead overlay with pearl Gibson logo and gold Les Paul Model logo, multi-ply black and white plastic bell shaped truss rod cover, three per side Gibson Deluxe tuning machines with keystone green tuning buttons, serial number and Made In USA impressed into the back of the peghead, single ply black plastic electronics control cover plate and switch cavity cover plate, two metal strap buttons, chrome plated metal hardware and original black Gibson hard shell case with white plush interior. This guitar weighs 9lb 8oz.

This 2005 Gibson Les Paul Standard is in very good cosmetic condition showing some signs of play wear throughout including some tarnishing of the hardware, a few rusty screws, some slight buckle wear on the back of the body and a indentation on the back of the neck at the 10th fret (see photos). It looks like a capo mark but the 10th fret is an odd place for that. It doesn’t affect the playability whatsoever but it can be felt. This Les Paul has a very comfortable 60s neck profile that is medium chunky - not as thin as a lot of 60s profiles that I’ve encountered but certainly not huge. It has a 1 11/16” nut width and it just feels very nice to play. The frets are in excellent condition and show virtually no signs of play wear. This instrument has been set up and plays outstanding up and down the fingerboard with low action and great intonation. The original Gibson Burstbucker Pro humbucking pickups sound fantastic and all of the electronics have been inspected, cleaned and are functioning perfectly. The Root Beer finish is attractive especially paired with the figured maple top and dark cherry stain back finish. Plus, you just don’t see the Root Beer finish models very often. This guitar is housed in its original Gibson hard shell case for safe travels. If you are looking for a unique looking, great sounding and playing Lester, then maybe this Standard is for you.
