Wow! If you are a player looking for a real relic done with age look no further. This Vintage Gibson 1985 Les Paul Studio was just traded and received a clean bill of health before we set it up. The instrument arrived with the Original Patent # Gibson Pickups (85 was the last year for Tim Shaw Pickups) in the case, so after inspection my shop reinstalled them. The front reads 7.5 ohms and the back 7.6 ohms. They sound like a great old vintage humbucker!

Structural Integrity:
The geometry of the build is spot which represents some of the best builds Gibson turned out after the Norlin years.

Fret Wire: Original showing little wear for its year. No need of a fret level or refret at this point

Finish:
There is natural checking through out the instrument from age. At some period in time the instrument may have been professionally refinished or has just aged unevenly as Gibson's White Finishes do. The instrument is a true survivor free of a head stock repair.

Neck:
It is a slim profile that measures 0.817" Center 1st fret and 0.993 center of the 12th fret

Pickups:
Patent # Gibson Pickups. 1985 was the last year for the Tim Shaw Humbuckers. The pickups sound vintage. They are strong and vibrant with plenty of top end on the back and smooth darkness from the neck.

Setup:
The instrument received a professional setup in my shop using a straight edge and feeler gauges. It plays perfectly across the fretboard free of dead spots or buzzing.

Case:
Original Chain Saw Case free of staining, mildew or odors. All latches are in tact once again representative of a well maintained instrument.

Maintenance:
