1948 Gibson LG-2 Suburst, Excellent, Hard, $3,995.00

It would appear that Gibson must’ve made a whole slew of these L-G2s in the late 1940s but somehow, so few seem to have survived. Socio-economics? Hard times? Hard to say, but this one will be a wonderful companion to someone and for that matter, surely already has. It came up to us from the Carolinas from a good friend, who got it from the family of a good friend, who…. you get the drift. It's rock solid, sounds exactly like a seven-decades-old Gibson should (LARGE), and plays like a dream. Older repairs are limited to a minor back seam separation and one replaced back brace, both beautifully taken care of years ago. All just gone over by us and we love it. $3995 w/hsc
