1959 Gibson LG-3

We found this gal amongst a grouping of other fine guitars. She is one rare bird (there were only 420+/- made in Kalamazoo in 1959). We couldn’t believe the amazing condition. This is a guitar that was well loved and cared for. The LG-3 is the top of the line on the smaller flat top LG series. They never reached the production levels of the LG-1 and LG-2 since they were the Cadillac of the LG range. The mahogany back and sides are premium quality wood along with the spruce top. The graining and the sound output are truly warm and elegant. The finish has that sought after vintage ambering with just the right amount of slight crackle to the finish-and she still shines like new. The X-bracing is also the premium upgrade and adds to the projection and tone. Bot the bridge and the fretboard are Brazilian rosewood. There is plenty of fret remaining on the fingerboard and the setup and play are sooo comfortable. We love the tone of this vintage beauty. So warm and full for a small body. Along with its other premium features, she is triple bound on top, single bound on the back and comes in the original brown alligator case. The guitar has been inspected and is structurally sound in every way. There is a small drop filled crack at the sound hole (fairly typical in these early LG’s) that was professionally filled and nearly unnoticeable. There are no other cracks, major dings, or structural concerns. Like we said, she has been very well cared for. This is one beautiful, rare, all original and comfortable guitar. She won’t last long since those who know won’t miss the chance.
