Description

This has to be one of the craziest modded-out vintage guitars we have ever come across. This 1964 Gibson Melody Maker has certainly lived an interesting life. The original horns of the guitar were cut off, and the body was rounded out. A older Khaler locking tremolo has been added, and while this currently sports HSH pickups, this is wired with a 3 way switch, and HH wiring (the single coil pickup is not currently connected.

This guitar does show quite a bit of cosmetic wear from over the years. This includes various scratches, scuffs, dents, and chips all throughout. The strap buttons have been repositioned, leaving prior holes exposed. This is also the case on the back of the headstock from the previous tuners and on the front of the body from the original bridge poles. The finish shows checking marks on the neck heal and on the face of the headstock. There is a notable crack that is perpendicular to the checking around the area where the headstock meets the neck. The crack looked to tight to get any glue in, and it feels structurally solid, so we have left this as-is.

Almost everything has been replaced and/or is an add-on. The body has been routed for an HSH pickup configuration. The pickups include DiMarzio Humbuckers and a single coil pickup that is unidentified. Most of the electronics have also been replaced and the Kahler locking system has been added.
