Gibson 1965 Melody Maker HH Mod
This is a 1965 'Melody Maker' model modified with 2 humbuckers and side jacks.
Originally 1 mic, modified to 2 humbuckers, with countersinking in both pickup cavities and pickguard for switches and wiring, and modifications to convert to side jacks.
It has a 3rd version body, 14° head angle & a wide neck of about 42 mm.
The pickguard has been modified to accommodate additional switches and pots.
All pots, tailpiece and tuners have been replaced (knobs x2 in tone position are original).
The back of the neck and the body back have been over-lacquered.
The pickups are equipped with Burstbucker 2&3.
The overall condition is appropriate for its age, with plenty of damage including peeling paint/duck marks/scratches.
It has been re-fretted and re-nutted, and the frets are dented in the low position of the plain strings, but overall there is about 60-70% remaining, and there are no problems with the neck and rod.
