RARE and extremely desirable.
1937 Gibson Nick Lucas- truly in the special category. It was the first celebrity named guitar model Gibson ever produced. Fewer than 250 were made in the nine year run of the model- several configurations were used. The first version of the Nick Lucas model (a.k.a. "Gibson Special") was built with the same body outline as the L-1, but the depth was increased to 4.5". The deeper body made a huge difference in tone, and Gibson maintained it throughout the Lucas model's many design changes. This was the only Gibson with the deep body.

The Nick Lucas was the most expensive guitar in the Gibson line at the time. Including even the Advanced Jumbo. There were six different versions of this guitar-the sixth one- the one this guitar is the most desirable and valuable with the maple back and sides and spruce top and fourteen frets. Impeccable sound, perfect playability, and stunning aesthetics.

This one actually has all original parts including bridge and plate, tuners, bracing, pickguard, logo, paper label, and inlays. The finish is original with the neck receiving a bit of sanding to improve feel and playability. The contour and size are completely untouched. MANY professional and well known artists do this to their guitars. Housed in the original hard case. $30,500.
