These guitars are highly coveted by collectors and players alike! After years of unpopular changes to the Les Paul model in the Norlin Era, guitar dealers started ordering '59-60 Spec Les Pauls for their customers. Their success prompted Gibson to finally return to a production model that captured all of these desirable features. With a single piece mahogany body flamed maple top, mahogany neck with '59 profile, nickel hardware, "No-line" double ring Kluson tuners, inked serial numbers, and an ABR-1 bridge, these guitars are known to collectors as the "Pre Historic" run, as they pre-date the later reissues from the Custom Shop. In addition to being made more like the vintage Les Paul "bursts", these guitars feature the renowned Tim Shaw humbuckers, making them excellent sounding Les Pauls, as well. This is one of the lowest serial numbers we've encountered from this run, and having been part of a collection is in fantastic condition. These almost never appear for sale!
