Description

Vintage original 1969 Gibson Les Paul Professional in original Walnut finish.

Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA.

Features a Walnut finish, Mahogany body and neck, and Rosewood fingerboard.

The Les Paul Professional was the second of the instruments Paul himself designed with Gibson following his re-engagement with the company in 1968. While Kalamazoo was most concerned with re-issuing the original 1950's models, an agreement was also struck to more accurately re-create Les Paul's highly personalized and idiosyncratic guitars for sale to guitarists everywhere. The first model offered was the "Personal" which was a close copy of Paul's own Custom guitar-this "Professional" model followed in 1969 with the same advanced electronics package on a slightly less upscale instrument.

It features a "Decade" switch which does not take you to the '70s '80s or '90s - it offers 10 different preset tone modifications, a 3-way tone selector and an in/out of phase switch.

This model was only in production for less than 2 years before being replaced by the Les Paul Recording model, which was similar but with several simplifications.

Pots and electronics are dated 1969.

No cracks, no breaks, no issues.

Guitar is completely original with the exception of one changed tuner, and the switch tip.

Comes with a nice brown Gibson hardshell case.
