Gibson Les Paul R9/'59 Reissue 2004 Historic Makeover
Now available, a 2004 R9/'59 Reissue Gibson Les Paul Standard that has had a deluxe makeover by Historic Makeovers.
This 2004 custom shop was sent to Historic Makeovers in Florida to have a full Deluxe makeover which includes:
A fully aged nitrocellolose refinish
Recarved maple top
Restamped serial # in vintage correct font
Recarved neck, closer to a '59
Hide glue neck set
Replaced fingerboard to Brazillian rosewood
Royalite binding and nitrate cellulose inlays, nylon nut
As well as listed above, the guitar has a set of Throbak Mick Taylor MT102B pickups installed (these retail new for over $1200 AUD) and a vintage correct wiring harness with 500k pots and PIO bumblebee capacitors.
Otherwise the guitar retains most of its original parts other than mentioned. The guitar is lightweight at just under 4kg, and very resonant playing with a low easy action.
Cosmetically the guitar has some dings, weather checking, and fade to the finish to emulate a genuine burst.
A fantastic playing R9 that will get you about as close as you can get to the real thing.
Includes its original custom shop case, warranty card, and HM certificate.
