1980 Gibson RB-250 Mastertone

This Mastertone features Gibson's 1980 huge improvement in Banjo construction:

Instead of the multi-ply plywood rim they used for about 16 years previously, now the rims were 5-ply Maple.

Added to this was the Gibson Bell Bronze flathead tone-ring which in this case is a beefy nearly 5 lbs. in weight.

A small well-repaired peghead crack and some minor playing wear add some reality to an otherwise stellar RB-250 Mastertone Banjo.
