Description

Summary: This 1976 Gibson S- 1 is extremely clean and comes with the original black hardshell case with red plush interior. It has the 3 original clear epoxy enclosed single coils that enable you to see right into the coils! It has a gorgeous flame maple body, bolt-on maple neck with Flying V headstock and “harmonica” bridge for increased saddle travel for intonation. Our in-house luthier has just set this Gibson up with a new set of 10s and it is a joy to play.

Body: The flame maple body with subtle belly and arm contours, light natural finish and topped with a multi-ply b/w/b pickguard.

Neck: The 3 piece bolt-on maple neck has a rosewood fingerboard, Flying V headstock, 25” scale length and 1.675” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: It has 3 epoxy enclosed single coils, chrome plated harmonica bridge and tailpiece, nickel plated Gibson Deluxe tuners with metal keystone pegs, volume, tone, 2 way switch and 4-way toggle. In the back position of the 2-way it engages just the bridge pickup with volume and tone, and in the “up” position of the 2-way you get the 4-way toggle which engages any combination of the 3 pickups.

Cosmetics: The satin finish is in phenomenal shape with little wear to mention save for a few pick scratches and a couple small dings around the edges. The pickguard shows some pick scratches but overall this guitar is in excellent shape.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Modifications: The 4 way switch has been replaced.

Weight: 8 lbs, 7 oz.

Case: This guitar comes with the original hardshell case and we will ship it professionally packed and fully insured!
