10/12/24 UPDATE: The rarity of these is understated. The Celebrity Series, again, were limited editions produced for one year only, in 1991. In addition to the SG, there were also Les Paul and Firebird runs. Currently, there is a Celebrity Firebird on Reverb for 5K, as well as this SG:

We believe that ours may be one of the last of the SG Series, mostly because of the black-on-black motif. If you checked out the Reverb listing, you can see that the SG has a white one and white knobs, which correspond to the catalog photos and discription. (You can also tell that ours is in better shape.) Gibson manufacturing being what it was, they may have run out of the white "Celebrity"-printed ones and threw on a plain black one with knobs to match. All of the gold hardware and other specs are identical to the one on Reverb.

1991 Gibson SG Celebrity, in excellent all-original condition, ebony finish. The SG Standard Celebrity was part of the 1991 Celebrity Series, along with a Les Paul Standard and Firebird version. Only 200 units of each were produced. Rare black on black variation, knobs and pick guard were usually white; some versions released also had double-white pickups without covers. Rounded 60s neck profile; gold Schaller "Gibson Deluxe" tuning machines. "Celebrity Series" logo on back of neck under headstock. Except for some light pick marking on the pick guard and the upper treble bout, some small dents and lights scratches (nothing to the bare wood), this 33-year old Limited Edition SG is in great condition, weighing in at 7 lbs. 4 oz. Great player with evenly balanced pickups (neck measures 8.08K, bridge 8.13K). Original Gibson case is in fairly good condition, but is missing the handle.

Some neck spex:
Width at nut 1.685 in. 12th fret 2.05 in. Thickness 1st fret .865 in. 12th fret .975 in.

After years of sitting idle, frets had taken on a little tarnish as seen in photos. Since photos were taken, guitar has gone through a fret level and polish, as well as a complete setup.

NOTE: Black guitars are incredibly difficult to photograph. Especially in trying to show all of the imperfections and getting a good balance on the white parts. In these photos, most of the body areas that show unevenness of color, white streaks or colored patterns are usually showing reflections. Any finish damages or imperfections of color are always addressed in text and shown in photos the best way we know how.
