Description

Here's a 1987 Gibson SG Elite in Pearl White finish. No breaks, cracks, repairs. The SG Elite was introduced in 1987 and produced until early 1989. It slotted between the SG-62 and SG Customs. Its design is based on the SG-62, but the headstock is the narrower style, used on the SG Special, with the crown inlay positioned lower, as it was from 1966-1980. The guitar has matching '86 pots, with an '87 serial number, so it's most likely one of the earliest ones. The original Pearl White finish has slightly yellowed into a super cool and vibey look. At some point there was a sticker on the back of the guitar, which you can see the imprint. The neck has a 1961 Slim Taper D profile (.800/.875"). Playability is exceptional, with fast, low playing action. The frets have life left as well. The Ebony fingerboard is great shape. Pickups are original Gibson embossed humbuckers that sound awesome. Then there's the mini coil tap switch that allows you to split the humbucker coils for single coil tones. The guitar sounds great on every setting! These don't pop often!! HSC included..
