1964 Gibson SG Jr. Cherry
Cherry, EX-, all the early features you want and none of the frills you don’t need. First, it’s 5 pounds, yes a feather. Yet it’s got 300 pound tone with a complex resonance acoustically and a great P-90 tone that is famous in guitarville. It’s got all the pre ’65 features: Big neck, 1 11/16” nut and a full cut that fills the hand. Also has a 17-degree headstock pitch, Brazilian fretboard and nickel hardware. The original nickel bridge sits up straight, the frets are good and it plays great. It has dings, scrapes and finish checking but no cracks. There is a shadow of an old set list on the back, but no gunk. Came to us with a Music City bridge which we put in a couple of the photos and is included in the newer Gibson hard case.
