1965 Gibson SG Junior Cherry
Now available on consignment, an original 1965 Gibson SG Junior in its original cherry finish!
This well played example dates to early 1965, having the wider 1&11/16" nut width and the smaller 3ply pickguard (cracked by the lower horn). As you can see the guitar has been played over the years with some honest fade and checking to the finish.
Work to the guitar includes:
There is an older repair to the bass side wing of the headstock that is solid, see pictures.
At some point Grover style tuners were installed, period strip Kluson tuners have been reinstalled.
The reflector tone knob is a period replacement.
A new nut and refret with medium jumbo frets with plenty of life.
Otherwise the guitar retains most of its original parts including its original dogear p90 pickup and cover, the compensated wraparound tailpiece and short maestro vibrola, and an untouched wiring harness with CTS pots dating to the 4th week of 1965.
