SG's from 60 to 65 are really great players guitars but they are fragile. It seems that at least half of them have heel issues. It can be a break, a crack or stress checking. The problem is the neck join isn't very stable and once those stress checks show up in the cutaways, it tells you the neck is moving. I only buy SG's that have none of those things. It may be "just a check" but these checks aren't caused by weather-they are caused by stress. So, be careful. I particularly like the later ones with the Maestro trem because you can use it but if you don't use the trem, the sideways 60-63's can be wonderful players. A perfectly adjusted sideways will work fine...until it doesn't. This one has the sideways disabled using the Mojoaxe Vibrostop system. All original parts are in the case. Easy to put it back to stock. You can also just reinstall the arm if you want the guitar to look original but still have the Mojoaxe system in place. The original no wire "rocker" bridge with nylon saddles is also included. There is a repro on the guitar. The guitar is in beautiful 9/10 condition with the red as deep and vibrant as the day it left the factory. Only the back of the neck shows any fade. There is some checking but no stress checking or cracking near the neck. The bridge pickup volume pot was replaced (original in the case is working and could be reinstalled). The neck profile is wider than most at 1.71". That doesn't seem like much over the usual 1.65" or so of most Gibsons from the period but it feels a lot wider. The depth is medium at .83" at the first fret and .91" at the 12th. The extra real estate from the additional width makes it a dream to play even if you are used to a much larger neck (like I am). Frets are original and show very little wear. Weight is 7 pounds 4 ounces. All in all, a really great playing, great sounding collector grade guitar. Original case. I will also include a Gibson "chainsaw" case if you want it. It will require an extra shipping charge, however. That way, I can ship the guitar in the chainsaw case which will protect it from the gorillas at the shipping companies and ship the original case by itself. This will only be shipped next day air due to the fragile nature of SG's. The photo of the Vibrostop is not this guitar it is from Mojoaxe's web page.
