Player Grade + 1970 SG Special. 70's Norlin Gibsons can be hit or miss. The earlier in the 70's, the more likely you are to get a good one. This 70 is an excellent player with a big fat neck (3 piece). Neck measures .90" at the first fret and a-bigger than any '59- 1.07" at the 12th. No repairs or mods other than the added intonateable tailpiece. The original tailpiece, studs and Vibrola are in the case. I can't find the handle but if I do, it's included as well. There are two very positive aspects of late 60's and early 70's SGs. One is that they finally designed a neck joint that isn't so fragile and two, the later P90's (which have the clear plastic bobbins) are excellent pickups-I like them even better than the early ones. Original everything except as noted before. Guitar has been recently re-fretted with medium jumbo fretwire. Is it a pretty guitar? Nope. It's got its fair share of dings and knocks and scrapes but the neck is rock solid with no sign of movement or stress cracks in the cutaways (very common SG issue). The case is the crappy cardboard one. Buy yourself a nicer one for $100.
