2006 Gibson SG Special Ebony with non-original hardshell case

Summary: This is a great playing Gibson SG special in a classic Ebony finish. The pickups have been swapped to GFS pickups and they sound awesome. There are some cosmetic flaws on this guitar but nothing that affects playability or the tone. The frets are in great shape with tons of life in them and our luthier has just setup and restrung this SG with a new set of 10s and it is playing wonderfully. It ships in a non-original hard-shell case.

Body: Double cutaway mahogany body in Ebony finish and multi-ply black pickguard.

Neck: Mahogany set neck with a nice full profile, unbound rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dots, 22 frets, 1 11/16” nut width, 24 ¾” scale length, Gibson Deluxe tuners with green keystone pegs and nylon nut.

Pickups/Hardware: It has GFS humbucker pickups, 2 volumes, 2 tones, 3 way toggle, nickel hardware, tune-o-matic bridge and stop-bar tailpiece.

Cosmetics: The finish on the face of the headstock has some delamination which is common for Gibsons of this period. There is some finish checking on the neck and body, a fair amount of buckle rash on the back, pick scratches on the front and some minor nicks and dings one would expect to see on a well-played and loved instrument. The silver top has fallen off 2 of the knobs. The frets are in great shape with tons of life left in them.

Playability: Our in house luthier has just setup and restrung this SG with a new set of 10s, the action is low and the neck is straight. It plays very well all the way up and down the fingerboard with tons of sustain and note clarity.

Modifications: The original pickups have been swapped out with GFS pickups.
