Description

I have owned a 1972-73 Standard since 1978, and it is one of 2 I will never get rid of. Mine has a Bigsby, I would have much rather had a stop tail, but I love it and there you go. I was excited to get this one in, it's a brother to mine. What I was told were the original pickups and pots had been reinstalled, but not wired- I think it had EMG's and the guy kept the EMG's. The pickups are the original Tarbacks, and 3 of the 1973 pots, with the original caps. I didn't have anything close so installed a Gibson 500K from 1993 for one of the volume pots. The neck pickup lead was a little short, so we added on to it, everything is hooked up and works great. No cracks or repairs neckwise, a little crack at the input jack, and that was addressed before we got it, feels solid. Red lined wooden SG case, not much fret wear, and plays great, The Tarbacks sound really good, nice and clear with a bell like tone. Rosewood fingerboard. Cherry SG Standards are hard to beat, this one is a rocker and a player, and a very cool guitar. Thanks for looking!
