Description

Here's a 1972 Gibson SG Standard in Cherry finish. Clean, all original example, with an ultra rare maple body! This was most likely a special order, because we've never seen another from this era. No breaks, cracks, repairs. Besides some light pick scratches on the guard, the guitar is in great shape. The finish is super vibrant and unfaded. All pots date to '72. Three piece maple neck, matching maple body, with block inlays, and an unbound ebony fingerboard. The pickups are original Tarbacks, and sound fantastic! The maple really adds some beautiful clarity to the tone. Playability is exceptional! Action is low, with clean frets. The nut measures right at 1.58" and has a medium, round profile. Couldn't play/feel any better. The guitar was very well taken care of through the years. Really special guitar here. OHSC!
