*One of two 1961 Gibson TV Yellow SG Juniors known to have been owned by Gary Moore. This guitar was offered and sold at auction through Bonhams on 4th May 2022, on behalf of the Gary Moore estate. The other was sold by Gary Moore through GAK, Brighton, circa 2007, now owned by a London based private collector.

According to the Bonhams auction listing, this guitar was used in photo shoots for the 1994 BBM (Baker Bruce Moore) press sessions. The listing also states that the guitar features in the VHS release of Blues for Greeny, on the track Showbiz Blues, having a Seymour Duncan JBJ pickup fitted. This pickup is included in the sale.

Gary can be seen with a TV Yellow Gibson SG Junior in the VHS release of the 1995 Blues for Greeny concert, where he uses it on 'Showbiz Blues' and 'Dust my Broom'. The guitar can be seen with a zebra humbucker pickup fitted and with raised action for slide use. Whilst the Bonhams auction listing states that it was this guitar used for the live concert, there is a chance (without certainty) that it could have been the other.

Ex lot 231, The Gary Moore Collection Part III, Bonhams, 4th May 2022. Sold with a Seymour JBJ pickup and original letter of provenance from the Bonhams auction.

*UK non-transferable domestic CITES A10 certificate no. 24GBA10NCN04A
