Description
1954 Gibson SJ-200 in good condition. This Gibson has playwear throughout, has had a twisted neck block repaired, a reinforcement added around the top X brace near the fingerboard, and has four repaired top cracks, two that extend from either side of the fingerboard down to the top of the soundhole, and two that run from the top of each of the pickguards to the edges of the upper bout.  All repair work was done in house. This SJ-200 was constructed with a spruce top, maple back and sides, a maple neck with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with pearl inlays, and a Brazilian rosewood bridge. The neck has a width of 1 11/16” at the nut, a depth of .94” at the first fret, and a depth of 1.10” at the tenth fret. The guitar has 25.5” scale and weighs 5.08 lbs. This instrument was formerly owned by Coy Martin, a staff guitarist on KMA radio in Iowa in the 1950's, whose name is engraved on the original custom trussrod cover. An extremely cool looking guitar with its original double pickguards, elongated finish checking, and natural finish that has aged to a lovely golden hue. Comes with a hardshell case.
