Gibson / 2001 Southern Jumbo

Gibson's popular round-shoulder model, Southern Jumbo. This model is positioned as a higher level model of the J-45, which is also very popular. The double parallelogram position marks, cell binding on the fingerboard, and maple body trim create a sense of originality and luxury.

This time we have a 2001 model in stock. It has a large pickguard and 20 frets, scalloped bracing, short saddle upper belly bridge, and GOTOH Cruson type pegs with white buttons.

The neck is a little thinner in shape. Wide range and dynamic sound. The treble part is especially sparkling, and this is combined with the hard finish that seems to be characteristic of this period, producing a very beautiful sound.

The Southern Jumbos we have had in stock up to now (around 2000) also have the same sparkling tone. It is popular not only for playing but also for instrumental situations, and I think it is a definite choice for an acoustic guitar.
