1937 Gibson TB-7 original flathead Mastertone banjo, with Randy Wood 5-String Conversion Neck and original hardshell case. FON 390-2. This is one of the cleanest and most original pre-war flatheads I've ever encountered. It is from a well known lot of tenor Style 7's, however this one only surfaced from the family of the original owner a few years ago. It features a mint Randy Wood 5-string conversion neck, with a radiused fingerboard, and also included is the original tenor neck and hardshell case. The metal parts are barely tarnished, the rim and sticker are perfect, and there is minimal wear to the resonator. The original flange is in superb condition. It is a time capsule of a banjo and is still accompanied by the original factory top tension tightening key. It is an amazing playing and sounding example, one of the best I've ever come across. The original 4-string tenor neck has a repaired heel crack, and the tuners are unoriginal. The 5-string neck features the superb Rickard Cyclone tuners. The tailpiece adjustment thumb screw is a reproduction. Serious inquiries only, please inquire via email at noam@vintagebanjo.com for demo videos or any questions.
