1981 Gibson The V Sunburst with Original Hardshell Case
Summary: This Gibson “The V” is a remarkably stylish guitar with sharp looks and rocking tone. This vintage Gibson V has an all-maple body with a gorgeous flame maple top and a deep sunburst finish. It’s in great shape and has been well-cared for in its life. The pickups sound awesome clean, but even better turned up with some overdrive and a loud amp! Our in-house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing optimally. This vintage “V” ships in its’ original hard-shell case fully packed, padded and insured.
Body: The cream bound flame maple top has a nice natural dark burst. It sits on a one piece “V shaped” maple body with a deep burst finish.
Neck: This Gibson has a 3 piece maple neck with a comfortable C shape, unbound ebony fretboard, pearl dots, cream side dots, 22 original frets with tons of life left, nickel plated Gibson tuners with tulip shaped buttons, V headstock, silk screen logo, 24.75” scale length and a 1.675” nut width.
Pickups/Hardware: Original uncovered cream bobbin humbuckers, 2 volumes, 1 tone, amber knobs, 3 way toggle, original bridge, tailpiece and tuners.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in fantastic shape. It was well-cared for when it was played and seems like it was kept in the case most of its life. The finish is in great condition, there are some very small dings on the top and a couple minor scratches. The back of the guitar looks awesome but there is some surface level buckle creases. There is one small ding on the top side edge and the frets have a very small amount of fret wear that does not affect the playability.
Playability: This guitar has been inspected, set up and restrung with a set of 10s by our in-house luthier. It sounds and plays great with low action and the frets have tons of life left in them.
Modifications: It has one replaced capacitor.
Weight: 8 lbs, 10 oz.
