For sale is a gorgeous and unplayed 2022 Gibson Theodore, with a natural finish. It was one of just 106 guitars made with this finish, and one of 318 total. This guitar was purchased as a collectible. It has never been played. All documents that came with it are here. The guitar has spent its life inside its case in a climate-controlled environment, and has only been taken out and held to take these photos. I’m happy to show any additional pictures of anything that you might want to see.
As stated, only 106 in each color were made worldwide! Killer piece from the Gibson Custom Shop! Gotta love the "skunk" stripe running down the middle of the body!! Plays and sounds fantastic!!! LOVE these P-90s, as they bring out all the unique subtleties of an individual player. Nice full "C" neck profile. Original hardshell case is mint also. This guitar has all hang tags, factory paperwork, COA, warranty card, and the original shipping box. Also has a reproduction of the original design drawing of the Theodore guitar. It’s in the exact same condition as it was when it left the factory.
NOTES FROM GIBSON: Gibson's legendary former president Theodore "Ted" McCarty helped develop some of the most iconic electric guitars ever during the 1950s and early 1960s including the Les Paul, ES-335, Flying V, Explorer, SG, and Firebird models. He enjoyed sketching new instrument ideas during meetings, and the height of his creative output was in 1957 when he sought to modernize Gibson's electric guitar designs significantly. On March 18th, 1957, Ted detailed and signed his drawing for a new solid body instrument which was never produced...until now.
Gibson Custom Shop is proud to present the "Theodore," inspired by Ted McCarty's original drawing and notes. Its unique features include an alder body, scimitar headstock, double Florentine cutaways, and a walnut center strip. The lightweight, balanced construction is extremely comfortable, and the powerful P-90 Pickups produce effortless sustain and a rich diversity of tones.
This very special Archive Collection run is limited to just 318 total instruments offered in three colors: Natural, Cherry, and Ebony. Each includes a Historic-style brown/pink case, a premium leather strap, a print of the original signed drawing, a 1957-style catalog page print, and a deluxe Certificate of Authenticity booklet.

It’s what we do, and it’s what we’re known for. We’re happy to answer ANY and ALL questions PRIOR to you making your purchase, so if you’ve got questions that need answers then PLEASE ASK THEM!! In a nutshell, we try to PREVENT returns before they happen. We don’t want to send our guitars across the country only to have them returned less than a week later. We don’t like it, and our guitars don’t like it. It’s that simple. So again, please ask as many questions as you wish PRIOR to making your purchase … because while every once in a blue moon there is a need to accept a return, it’s simply not something that happens with any frequency at Blues Vintage Guitars. Now, in some cases – guitar purchases ONLY, and ALL of which are agreed to PRIOR to purchase – we do allow a 24-hour approval period that begins as soon as the parcel is signed for. If after all available remedies have been exhausted there is still a need for a return, then the following guidelines apply: You must immediately call Blues Vintage Guitars, Inc. for a Return Authorization Number … NO RETURN WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT A RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER; Return arrangements must be made within 48 hours of receipt of the parcel; Any refunds will be less shipping costs both ways and any applicable credit card fees; You will be charged a restocking fee of 15% of the final purchase price minus any shipping charges; You may use your refund for store credit on another "In Stock" item; The returning item must have a Return Authorization Number given to you by a Blues Vintage Guitars representative; Any item being returned without an Return Authorization Number will be refused; The returning item must be shipped back in the same manner and condition in which it was received; If there is any damage or change in the condition to the item for any reason whatsoever, the return will be refused and no refund will be issued; All returns must be insured for the full amount of the purchase price; We will not accept a return if the item has been modified in any way; Returns are not accepted on layaway items, as all layaway sales are final and will be treated as such; Returns of any kind are not accepted on any custom orders; And each sale is handled on a case-by-case basis. Thanks!
