Description

Here’s a beautifully aged but original 1968 Gibson Trini Lopez Deluxe in Sparkling Burgundy! This particular guitar has faded to a copper-gold tone on the front, as in many other examples in Sparkling Burgundy, where the translucent red top coat fades to show the gold undercoat. The back still retains some of this red coat. This example also has a nice contrast of verdigris and weather checking throughout the guitar. It’s fair to say the prior owner really loved this piece, and it becomes obvious why in just the first few moments of playing. The headstock shape is neat, the neck profile comfortably fits the hand, and the double cutaway makes navigating the entire neck easy. The Deluxe version of the Trini Lopez has controls that are very similar to the Standard. However, it features a 3-way switch on the treble horn and a standby switch on the bass horn. This guitar had a mono-plak at one point, but since then, the original has been reinstalled. The original nearly covers the extra holes.

Overall Condition: 7, fading, weather checking, playwear, and patina throughout
