Gibson USA 1995 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman
This Chet Atkins signature model was manufactured by Gibson from 1986 to 2005.
The body is a 17" thinline archtop with a semi-hollow center block construction and beautifully figured flame maple.
The look is reminiscent of Gretsch in many ways, such as the sunrise orange colour/thumbnail inlays/control layout, but also includes Gibson-style touches like the tortoiseshell guard and Schaller tuners with winder.
The neck is slightly wider, with a nut width of approximately 45.1mm, the pickups are a low output 492R on the neck and a 490T on the bridge, and the controls are Master Volume on the horn, Volume & Master Tone on each pickup.
There is a long crack repair mark on the side of the body (around the jack) and the jack plate has been replaced with a wooden one.
The switch has been replaced.
Paintwork damage to the heel of the neck (paint has melted slightly), a dent to the elbow guard, several pockmarks and scuffs to the body top and also the body back, a stand mark and darkening to the end of the body, damage to the corner of the head, pockmarks and scuffs to the head, rust and patina to the bigsby.
The frets are very lightly worn in places, especially on the plain string section, but overall there is about 80-90% remaining, and the neck and truss rod are both in good condition.
