Offered for your consideration is this superb Walnut Grand Concert guitar built by James Goodall in his Hawaii shop in 2004. What a sweetheart!
This a 14-fret, 25.5" string scale instrument with a body that is just 19-1/2" long and 15" wide at the lower bout. It has a lovely Engelmann Spruce top matched with AA grade Curly Walnut for the back and sides. It has Curly Maple body binding and backstrip with an Abalone rosette and fingerboard inlays. It has a sleek oval-shaped Mahogany neck with Ebony binding . The fretboard is Ebony with a 16" radius, Paua inlays and a 1-3/4" bone nut. The headstock has Koa binding, an Ebony overlay and Paua logo inlay. It has an Ebony bridge with a bone saddle and 2-1/4" string spacing. The tuners are gold Gotoh 510's with matching Walnut buttons. It comes with a clear plastic pickguard which Jim installs on most of his guitars.
The Grand Concert body is the perfect size for many players; big enough to have significant power, but small enough to be quite comfortable to play. If you listen to the included you will find that this guitar has a voice that is rich, clear and balanced, with great note separation and lots of the overtones that Goodall guitars have long been known for. It is set up with Elixir Phosphor Bronze light gauge strings with 12th fret string heights of 6/64" on the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side.
While built in 2004, this guitar is in fantastic original condition. Aside from a tiny ding between the sound hole and the bridge (see photo), this lovely instrument shows only the lightest evidence of play and the frets are in superb condition too (see photos). It comes in it's original TKL AVS series case, also in excellent condition.
Sold new today, this guitar would have a street price of approximately $6K. Get this exceptionally well maintained 2004 beauty at a substantial discount. Make this incredible Goodall yours today - you will be very glad you did!
