The rare red-top version of the Duo Jet, the Jet Firebird is perhaps most famously associated with Bo Diddley and he can be pictured with one on several album covers and in live performances. This early 1956 model still features the earlier block inlays, as well as a "synchro sonic" bridge and a phenomenal sounding pair of Dearmond single coil pickups. The neck shape closely resembles 50's Les Paul style necks, while the hollow body gives this the distinctive Gretsch tone in a small, comfortable shape. These early singlecut Jet Firebirds have become very hard to find. This guitar includes the original Gretsch hardshell case.
