The "G6196T-59" model from the Vintage Select Edition series combines vintage looks with modern specs for superior performance.
It follows the 1959 style with trestle bracing and a large 17" wide and 2-3/4" thick single cutaway body finished in Cadillac Green for a premium look.
It is finished in lacquer and features Grover Imperial tuners, thumbnail position markers, space control bridge with string-to-string pitch adjustment, B6G tailpiece, G Arrow knob and gold hardware.
The pickups are two TV Jone TV Classic pickups, a treble bleed circuit that delivers the same tone at full volume, and Gretsch's exclusive "Squeezebox" paper-in-oil capacitor. The guitar features Gretsch's proprietary "Squeezebox" paper-in-oil capacitor.
Controls include a pickup selector switch, 3-way master tone switch, master volume and volume for each pickup.
There are numerous grainy paint reaction marks (like bubbles) on the top that are visible when held up to the light, a tiny dent by the master volume knob and some scuffs on the body back and sides.
It has been re-fretted and re-nutted in our shop and the neck and truss rod are in good condition.
