This was my first Grosh and I really like it. It has a gorgeous , beautifully grained one-piece Alder body, excellent Grosh pickups (see below*), a beautiful rosewood fingerboard and very good wiring and overall feel & vibe.
Weight is 7.8 pounds. More specs are on the build sheet in the photos.
Everything works as it should and the fretboard, frets, electronics and neck are all in great shape.
This guitar has been played and has a number of dings, scuffs and other normal play wear for a 20-year old guitar. I've done my best to capture these in the photos, but not all could be clearly photographed.
The hard shell case is in similar condition with some marks and scuffs on the outside, but these are purely cosmetic. The case is very sturdy and the latches, hinges, and interior are in excellent shape.
The guitar will ship in its hard shell case with the original tortoise pickguard & backplate.
This guitar is a bit unique. First, it has the Suhr Backplate Silent Single Coil (BPSSC) system installed. This was added by the previous owner. Suhr says it is for optimal noise reduction and it is quieter than my other Grosh strat. The documentation on installation & adjustment will be included.
The original build sheet from Grosh lists Fralin pickups, but when we removed the pickguard we found Grosh labeled pickups instead. Grosh makes excellent pickups, but I've reached out to Grosh to see if these are maybe Fralin pickups licensed to Grosh, or if there was just a mistake on the sheet. Either way, they sound great!
