Summary: This is a beautiful Guild thin body acoustic bass (3 1/8”) that was made in 1994 & it ships with the original hard shell Guild case. This instrument is light-weight but it has lots of tone & it plays great.
Body: Single rounded cutaway, thin profile body (3 1/8”) with a solid spruce top & mahogany back and sides. The back is arched with no bracing. The top has 4-ply binding and the back has a single black binding. The width across the lower bout of the body is 16 ¼”.
Neck: Mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, 20 frets, pearloid dot inlays, chrome Grover 2-per-side tuning keys, 1 5/8” nut width, 30.5” scale length.
Pickups/Hardware: Original Grover chrome tuning keys, dot inlays, rosewood bridge, pearloid Guild headstock logo, Fishman pickup system, oval soundhole with 3-stripe rosette.
Cosmetics: This Guild shows some normal wear associated with a well-played but loved instrument from the mid 1990’s – there are some pick scratches on the top and there is some belt buckle rash on the back. This Guild is showing some signs of checking on the sides but is in overall fantastic shape.
Playability: This Guild plays great – the action is low & the instrument plays great up & down the fingerboard.
