This Guild X-170 is a fantastic guitar that delivers everything you could want from a hollow body. The neck pickup delivers the rich jazz guitar tones that make this instrument a first rate option for chord melody and single note jazz playing. The middle position offers fantastic rhythm tones that work wonders for classic pop and rock rhythm accompaniment. The bridge pickup is articulate and cuts well making this X-170 a great option for vintage country and rockabilly styles. All in all, this instrument is a fantastic player that offers quite a bit of versatility for a hollow body instrument. It is an all around great tool for the working musician's arsenal as well as a beautiful piece for the collector of fine hollowbody guitars. The finish on this Guild is vibrant and looks stunning paired with the exceptionally figured maple top, sides, neck and back. The interior label states that this fine guitar was built in Westerly, Rhode Island, and was built two years after Fender acquired Guild Guitars. The build quality, sound and playability of this guitar are top notch. If you are after an extremely attractive Guild electric hollowbody, then this X-170 might be what you are searching for.
