One of the very coolest and most difficult to find Gurian guitars, the Size 2. These were intended to be a “smaller” guitar, sorta similar to Martin's 00-size models but Michael Gurian, in his brilliance, made his a bit deeper than anyone else’s, giving them a richness that no other guitar in its size range has. This S2M, with its mahogany back and sides and super-fine-grained Sitka Spruce top, has got the clarity and microphone-friendliness we’ve all come to love and really treasure, along with volume that is rarely found in guitars of this size. This particular one though has got to be totally unique; it's got a custom ordered wider neck, 1-7/8” at the nut, and maple fingerboard binding, a wonderful touch. I've never seen another Gurian with a neck like this. The tuning machines of course are the finest German-made Schaller M-6; the fingerboard is of the very best ebony, the bridge Brazilian rosewood, and the nut and saddle genuine ivory, no longer available. It was made in the late 1970s in Gurian's New Hampshire shop, home of some of the very best Gurian guitars ever. It has one of our original decals on the back of the peghead indicating that we sold it at one time and possibly may even have ordered it new as a custom piece. With a sound that seems to go on forever combined with our own recent thorough going-over and setup, it is a truest of true loves and a lifetime keeper. $1995 w/hsc
