Description

Of all the sizes of Gurian guitars the Size 3, of Martin 000-size proportions, is considered by many to be the most versatile and most desirable with the rosewood versions, as this one is, being the one that everyone wants. The 1970s saw Michael Gurian's move from New York City to a more spacious, better-equipped shop in New Hampshire and the instruments from this era are highly prized. With its specially-chosen straight-grain East Indian rosewood back and sides, fine-grained Sitka spruce top, finest ebony fingerboard and rosewood bridge, this is a very special guitar with rich, even tonal response all across its range and plenty of volume. Fine wood marquetry around the edge of the top and soundhole rosette are Gurian-made, and perfect. And cool. The tuning machines are unusually fine, gold-plated and with a 21:1 gear ratio. Overall condition is excellent with no cracks and no repairs ever needed. At some time in the past one additional coat of lacquer was applied to the body to give it a nice fresh look. We have gone over it thoroughly here in our own shop to ensure a wonderful action and smooth, crisp playability. Included is a top-flight road case, take it anywhere, safely. All this for only $2495 w/hsc
