1980 Hamer "Sunburst"

Hamer guitars started in the 1970's as a small builder in Illinois but quickly gained a reputation for exceptionally well built guitars. These instruments found their way into the hands of the eras biggest stars and have since become quite collectible. 1980 was the first year of the newly introduced "Special" model so Sunburst model guitars were built in smaller numbers, making this a rare find. It features a solid mahogany body with a stunning, one-piece maple top, three piece mahogany neck, and a pair of DiMarzio PAF style pickups specially designed with Hamer. This guitar has a beautifully figured, flame maple top and a fast-playing, thin neck profile making it an exceptional rock n' roll guitar! Early Hamers were made in very small numbers making examples like this very hard to find. An extraordinary example of classic American-made guitar!
