Harmony Monterey Sunburst with Original Chip case & DeArmond pickup

Summary: This Harmony Monterey Mandolin is in fantastic shape and has been recently set-up and restrung with a new set of strings - it sounds, looks and plays beautifully. It comes in its original black alligator skin chipboard case which is also in wonderful shape. There is a vintage DeArmond “monkey on a stick” pickup installed which sounds very cool when plugged in. We will ship it professionally packed and fully insured.

Body: A-style mandolin with an arched spruce top, arched maple back and maple sides, cream bound front and back, f holes, 2” thick and 10” across.

Neck: The maple neck has a nice full soft V/C profile, bound rosewood fretboard with 20 brass frets, pearloid dots, 14” scale length and 1 3/16” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: The pickup is a vintage DeArmond “monkey on a stick” pickup with a volume control, rosewood bridge, single ply tortoise pickguard and open back tuning keys with white buttons.

Cosmetics: This is one of the best kept Harmony’s we have seen at our shop. The back of the neck has no dings dents or blemished, the body itself shows only a few minor dings and bruises and the edges of the headstock only have a couple small chips. There are a few small cracks around the output jack but they are not structurally detrimental. A superb looking instrument, especially considering its age.

Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of light gauge strings and it is playing beautifully with smooth polished frets. The frets are in great shape with only minor wear and have tons of life left in them.

Modifications: There is a hole at the end of the headstock where a strap button was mounted. The pickup is likely aftermarket but is high quality and has been on the instrument for a long time.
