Offered for sale:

Vintage 1967 Harmony Sovereign Deluxe Jumbo H-1265 Acoustic Guitar.

This guitar is in good condition. Neck angle and frets are fine. Cosmetically the guitar is used but not abused. There is normal playing wear with nicks and marks about the body. The top and back of the neck present fairly well. However, the back and sides show some clouding in the finish. In addition, there is some finish hazing and checking as well as wear and marks on the back.

The Sovereign Deluxe Jumbo H-1265 was Harmony's flagship model, made only in 1967 and 1968 in Chicago. It is the most ornate of the Sovereigns. But more importantly it is the best Harmoney flat top we’ve ever heard.

Features include a beautiful solid Sitka spruce top and a solid, one-piece Honduran mahogany back and mahogany sides, with a bound Brazilian Rosewood fretboard. A large eagle shaped Brazilian Rosewood bridge, large pearl block position markers, 25" scale length with a 16-1/4" body, bindings on top and back, rosette at sound hole, mahogany neck, Waverly Deluxe single tuning machines and adjustable truss rod. It has the original large offset tortoiseshell pickguards with metal Harmony logo, tortoiseshell headstock overlay and truss rod cover.

The iconic Harmony Sovereign Jumbo has been a favorite of song writers and recording artists for almost 60 years, used by many greats from Jimmy Page to Ryan Adams for its huge sound and incredible note definition.

From an article quoting Jimmy Page regarding his Harmony H1260:

“I’ve lent my Harmony six-string acoustic, that guitar I had way back in the early Sixties and it was with me all the way through to the point that I used it as a writing tool,” Page says, “And that particular guitar is the vehicle whereby the first album, Led Zeppelin, is written, the second album is written, the third album is written and the fourth album is written. And it’s the guitar that actually culminates in playing ‘Stairway to Heaven.’ ”

Imperial Guitar says:

This is a great sounding iconic instrument. Don’t be put off by the wear and tear, this is a guitar that has stories to be told, if it only spoke words. But it speaks in superb tones and will continue to do so!

Hard-shell case included.

“We carefully inspect every instrument when we buy it and bring it up to our standards before we offer it for sale. We also do a full set up before we ship. If you decide to purchase this guitar, please let us know what gauge strings you prefer.”

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
