I had never seen a Herrnsdorf instrument prior to the arrival of this Elektro Artist lap steel.  Its a really cool instrument, and it sounds great too!

It looks and feels a lot like the Supro instruments we're accustomed to seeing here in the US.

Everything is original and working just as it should with the exception of a change of the output jack. There must have been a big jack plate originally on the steel - you can see the original screw holes to the left and right of the old jack hole and the new jack.

There is no case.

A search of the interwebs found this info on Herrnsdorf:

Herrnsdorf also built archtop, solid body and lap steel guitars in the late 50s-to-early 60s era. Herrnsdorf was founded in 1865 as a musical instrument trader company. In 1927 recorder production began, and in the 1950s electric string instrument production commenced. Herrnsdorf was incorporated with Musima in 1972.

You can find the "Electro Artist" logo on the top of the body, but the name "Electro--" means the "Electric instrument made by Herrnsdorf". For the example, Herrnsdorf Electric Archtop has the same name, and the Herrnsdorf lap-steel guitar also has this same logo.
